Doctor in the Domain

previous first

Well, look Who’s back! Yep, it’s the Master, back in the Domain for one day only and subtle as ever. And I’m here today to honour my namesake’s long-time nemesis, as he celebrates his 50th (or is it 1,200th?) year. Ladies, gentlemen and variations thereupon, I give you The Doctor!

A click on here should reveal that, like the TARDIS, the picture is bigger on the inside. Also available in Red, Orange, Yellow, Green and Purple.

I’m a fairly recent convert to the church of Whovianism. In fact, very recent – I started catching repeats from David Tennant’s era last year. It’s fair to say I was promptly hooked. Since then I’ve been through the entirety of the current run, started watching some of the classic serials and bought myself a fez!

What puzzles me now is why I came to the series so late. I was alive during the Peter Davison, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy years, and judging from what I’ve seen of those eras, I should have loved them! It’s absolutely my kind of show. Aliens, time travel, fantastically out-there ideas and plots tinged with an edge of darkness, but also with wonder. Plus, sexy companions (of either gender, let’s not be fussy). Oh well, it matters not. The great thing about coming to the show now is I can literally travel in time to relive all the classics (that are still available). That’s a lot of timey-wimey, wibbly-wobbly adventures (not to mention sets) to look forward too.

Hope you enjoyed this brief return. Sorry it can’t be a more permanent one just yet. If it helps, think of this like the McGann era. Knocked down, but most certainly not out. The Domain will be back. Geronimo!

Yes, I wear a fez now. Fezzes are cool. Also available in Red, Orange, Yellow, Green and Purple.

Oh, I’m sorry. Allons-y!

John Hurt would be there too, but apparently he’s got some sort of chest problem. Also available in Red, Orange, Yellow, Green and Purple.

Welcome back Jake :), Hope thing are good with you. I think I am old enough to have seen all the Doctors apart from Wiliam Hartnell , I think Tom Baker was my favourite but all of them have been good and maybe Sylvestor McCoy was a little under-rated, Christopher Eccleston deserves a special mention imho.
It was good ro see Tom Baker in the ‘Special’ (ooops do I need to say spoiler alert) . I thought the ending was really good :)
Really looking forward to Christmas to see the appeareance of Peter Capaldi . I hope he watches his language lol

I hope he doesn’t! “EXTERMINATE!” “Fuck off, you look like a fucking pepper pot, ya cunt!” Perfect Christmas entertainment!

I’ve been catching up on some of the classics courtesy of Watch, and I’ve enjoyed them all, excepting the Hartnell story. Nothing to do with Hartnell himself, it was just the story (The Aztecs – I rarely enjoy the historical episodes). Everyone says Tom Baker’s their favourite, and I can see why. Personally, though, I’m looking forward to seeing more of Jon Pertwee – and not just because of the connection to a certain former domain background character or the reader who inspired him! I’ve also heard good things about the McCoy and Sophie Aldred episodes. I agree with your assessment of Ecclestone, too. His time was short, but fantastic (couldn’t help myself)!

I have to say, I’ve enjoyed this brief return. So much so that in the new year I’ve decided to do one last Domain story, just to give it a proper ending (for now). I’ll let you know more about that in due course, but I think you’ll enjoy it!

Perhaps The Doctor can help you with that little Marmite problem. Yeah, take you to the future and show how your addiction to it brought on the end of civilization!

We at the Domain would appreciate your feedback/squeeing/sexual favours
